About Loco Hiker

The mountains became a discipline.

Hiking, climbing, camping, and exploration began as movement. They became a discipline: preparation before ego, observation before assumption, endurance without recklessness, and humility when conditions change.

Loco HikerField identity

Loco Hiker is not a costume or an invented outdoor persona. It is the record of the miles, photographs, field writing, accidents, recovery, and judgment earned outside.

My technical life taught me to read systems. The mountains made consequence immediate: weather, terrain, fatigue, timing, and decisions that cannot be debugged after the fact.

The common thread is attention under real conditions.

Preparation. Judgment. Endurance. Humility.

Still Loco

Not every mountain story needs to look severe. Some of the strongest days are simply about being outside and moving.
